House of prayer - Home

"9 Give orders to Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law for the burned offering: the offering is to be on the fire-wood on the altar all night till the morning; and the fire of the altar is to be kept burning." Leviticus 6:9

We believe that God is restoring the fire of intercession back to the altar in our land and 24/7 prayer is being reignited! We believe it is not and option or the office of a select few, but a mandate that must be acted upon for the fulfillment of the promises in our land. In response to this mandate, we are beginning networked/unified houses of prayer throughout the state of Maine, and beyond.

Where?
Waterville- LIghthouse Christian Fellowships Administrative Offices 105 Main Street - above Jorgensen's (call for information, 207-692-4765, Jamie Dickson)
Bangor- Bangor Theological Seminary Chapel (contact: Stu Greener sgreener@youthstorm.org

When?
Waterville- Monday, (6am and 7pm) Tuesday,Thursday, Friday (7 pm each night)
Bangor- Sunday through Friday nights 7pm (more times to come)

Needs?
We need to people to come and pray! We need to storm heaven with prayer! We also need worship leaders! The more people we have laboring in the houses of prayer the more prayer times we can schedule to work our way to 24/7.

End?
When Christ returns.

Jim and Kim Dickson - Staff of LCF

In 2003 through a series of dreams and "prophetic experiences", the Lord spoke to Jim and Kim about going back home to New England to be a part of what He was about to do there. At the time, they were living in Cleveland, Ohio and were quite content where they were. Finally they agreed that it was time to go home to Maine and see what God would have them do there. They arrived in Maine with their son Jamie in April 2004 and have been continually amazed at the plans the Lord has revealed to them for the State of Maine. (Watch for upcoming articles telling more of the story!)

For the better part of their 29 year marriage, Jim & Kim have served alongside church planters and have led home groups. During that time, they have been trained in the "trenches" on the good, bad and ugly aspects of church planting and home groups. Shortly before they left Cleveland, the Lord began planting in their hearts a vision for what they now know to be a network of house churches.

Leaving the traditional church scene and meeting in homes for church was not at all what they had planned, but it was clearly the Lord's strategy for them to follow as time and time again, it was confirmed that they were indeed hearing HIS voice and HIS strategy for what they were called to do in Maine.

Jim & Kim live in Waterville, Maine. Jim is an ordained minister and graduated from Bethany College of Missions, Minneapolis, MN. They have a daughter and son-in-law, Bobby and Rachel McGee, in Waterville, Maine, and they have a son, Jamie, who works together with them in the ministry of Lighthouse Christian Fellowships.

Have you Felt any squeezing or pressure lately?

When you feel that, or things just seem to be coming at you from every direction, what do you think is happening?

I remember when we heard the Lord speak very clearly to us to leave Cleveland - in no uncertain terms. We had to leave our home, our church, our friends, our jobs, our ministries. It was a sacrifice. Yet, we wanted to obey the Lord so we left! When you make a move like that in total obedience, you expect the blessing of the Lord to be on everything you do! Isn't that pretty much what we've been taught? We went through a season of intense squeezing! Dying! Questioning, where are you God???? We really wondered at times if we missed God.

"Get saved and all your problems will go away, everyone will love you, and you'll live happily ever after!" Yeah right! That's not what the Bible says! So why is it that what we've so often heard in feel good messages in today's churches?

Isaiah 55:8 & 9 For My thoughts are no your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Could it be that man's thinking or humanism has crept into our theology? It's time that we see what the Word of God really says and we'll gain better understanding of the ways of God.James 1:2-4John 15:1&2

God is looking for those who bearing fruit and are in right standing with Him, then He prunes our branches, causes us to be tested and purified so we can bear even more fruit!

How many here have prayed - Lord I want to be like you! I want to produce more fruit in my life - I want to be used by you. Okay, here come the pruning shears!

Let's look at the life of Job for a minute. Job 1:1-12

Satan coming to God tells us that he is accountable to God and he can't do anything without God's permission - when God does give the enemy permission- he sets limits on his power.

"God said that Job was blameless and upright and yet he is tried not because of his unrighteousness but in spite of his righteousness as well as to give him deeper insight into his relationship with God and a greater understanding of his own nature. While Satan's goal was to prove Job to be a sinner, God's goal was to establish forever the sincerity of Job's faith. God doesn't allow trials to see if we will fail, He allows trials to strengthen our faith. The trial is, in fact, a statement of God's faith in our faithfulness and integrity."

Job's friends were a great example of man's thinking and understanding. They did not discern or understand what was happening! Instead they were pointing the finger and accusing Job. His friend Zophar gave him a sermon about the devastating end of the wicked person and the hypocrite, Eliphaz severely reprimanded Job and warned him of the dire consequences of his sin. Bildad sharply rebuked Job and predicted that Job, as a hardened sinner will surely see destruction if he doesn't repent.

They were depending on their own human understanding to explain Job's predicament. Job starting sinking into self pity and despair and started defending himself, telling of his own righteousness.

Elihu a younger man had listened and stayed quiet to let the "elders" speak until he couldn't stand it any longer! He had truly heard from God and turned Job's eyes to the greatness of God. Elihu proclaimed God's justice and his goodness and his majesty.

Then in Chap 38: 1, God begins to speak to Job out of the whirlwind. and rebukes Job and his friends and puts it all in perspective.

When God comes near and we get a revelation of him, we see our own hearts.

Job, who had spent chapters declaring his own righteousness and what a good man he was, that he really didn't deserve this, sees God and responds in 40:4 "Behold I am vile, what shall I answer You?" He was left speechless. And the Lord continued on!

Then 42:1 Job answered the Lord and began declaring the greatness of God in great humility. Verse 5 and 6 Job says "I heave heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor (despise) myself and repent in dust and ashes Job repented, forgave his friends. Vs. 10 And the Lord restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends, indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before and verse 12 says Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen and on thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters. He was refined as gold!

Let's look back at Job 23: 8 - 10 when you are going through a trial, God is often silent. I once heard John Paul Jackson say, the teacher is always silent when you're taking a test.

"Look I go forward, but he is not there and backward, but I cannot perceive him; when he works on the left hand, I cannot see Him, but He knows the way that I take when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold."

Recently I was reading through a journal I had in the first year after we returned to Maine. We weren't able to find jobs, our money was running out, it looked like we were going to lose our house through foreclosure. But in my journal I wrote, the very worst part of it all was that God was silent! It felt like He had left us. And I was so confused. I thought somehow we had missed Him or displeased him, that we had made a mistake!

Let's look at this whole idea of testing and the refiner's fire a little further...Isaiah 48:10 Psalm 66:8-12I Peter 1:6-7

Let me end with this....

There was once a lady who had been reading the scripture in Malachi 3:2-3

Who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. (Hebrew washing clothes by stomping on them). He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.

She wanted to understand the process of refining Silver so she visited the silversmith. She didn't tell him why she was there, but she asked him to explain the process of refining silver, which he fully described to her. But sir, she said, "do you sit while the work of refining is going on? Oh yes, madam replied the silversmith; I must sit with my eye steadily fixed on the furnace, for if the time necessary for refining be exceeded in the slightest degree, the silver will be injured.

The lady at once saw the beauty, and comfort too, of the expression "He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. Christ sees it necessary to put His children into a furnace; His eye is steadily intent on the work of purifying and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best manner for them. Their trials do not come at random; "the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

As the lady was leaving the shop, the silversmith called her back, and said he had forgotten to mention that the only way that he knows when the process of purifying is complete is when he sees his own image reflected in the silver.

House Church Q&A - House Churches!?

What is "Lighthouse Christian Fellowships"?
Lighthouse Christian Fellowships is a network of house churches in Maine, each unique, but each with the same vision of spreading the light of Jesus throughout the state.

What are house churches?
They are the Body of Christ coming together in homes for worship, relationship, training, equipping and releasing, and ministry.

What makes a Lighthouse different than other churches?
House churches are obviously smaller; they are usually more informal and relational. There's no set agenda and all people are encouraged to participate. (We like to say that we're meant to be an army not an audience).

Is there a Pastor?
Lighthouses are led by Elders. The Elders of a lighthouse are the "shepherds" in that they care for the members and lead or facilitate the weekly meetings making sure that worship, training, equipping and ministry are taking place in a manner that is edifying to each member of the group and glorifying to God.

How are Lighthouses like other churches?
Lighthouses are actually church in the home. The Body of Christ gathers together regularly on any given day of the week for fellowship and teaching, worship and building each other up in the Lord.

Is there membership?
According to the bylaws of Lighthouse Christian Fellowships, members are those people who regularly attend the meetings and tithe to Lighthouse Christian Fellowships. That is the only form of membership there is.

Will my tithes to Lighthouse Christian Fellowships be tax deductible?
Yes, If you pay by check or put cash gifts in an envelope with your name and address on it, you will be given a contribution statement at the end of the year with a report of your giving to Lighthouse Christian Fellowships which will be honored by the IRS because we do have a 501(c)3 non-profit status.

Does God see meeting in a home as actually going to church?
The Bible says that we ARE the church. We don't have to meet in a white building with a steeple to be pleasing to the Lord. He says that wherever 2 or 3 are gathered together in His name, He is there. The New Testament believers met in homes and were referred to many times in the writings of the Apostle Paul.

Is Lighthouse Christian Fellowships connected with any other ministry?
Yes, we are members of the Apostolic Resource Center based in West Haven, CT. ARC is a network of ministries throughout New England and beyond. Dr. Brian Simmons is the President of ARC.

Lighthouse Christian Fellowships - Who We Are

Lighthouse Christian Fellowships is a network of house churches throughout Maine with Jesus Christ as our head. We gather together in homes for worship, fellowship, teaching and equipping the Body of Christ and ministering in the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. Our outreach is to the un-churched and the ex-churched. We desire to bring people into a loving, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and for them to know the Father heart of God, so that they can reach their full destiny and purpose in this life.

We believe that many have been disillusioned with and wounded by the Christianity they have seen in many of today's churches. We want to re-introduce people to Jesus so that they can truly experience His unconditional love, forgiveness, healing and freedom.
As a house church network, we are by no means saying there is no place for the traditional church; quite the contrary. We love every expression of the Body of Christ. Jesus commanded us in the great commission to make disciples.... One of the strategies that God has given us for this day, for this region, is to make disciples through small loving communities called house churches. And we're having a blast doing it!

Jamie is a visionary leader who longs to see an entire generation equipped and mobilized to walk in the fullness of their destiny and purpose as a generation; to be the Revelation 19, bride prepared for His coming. His cry is for the college campus' and the High Schools of America to be awakened by the full knowledge and revelation of Jesus Christ. He sees the restoring of 24/7 prayer and the reclaiming of the creative expressions of heaven, not just an option but a mandate given to the emerging generation.

Jamie currently resides in the beautiful state of Maine and is the pastor of CRAVE ministries, and assists in pastor duties for Lighthouse Christian Fellowships, he also helps over see the Maine House of Prayer Network. Ministry began for Jamie 4 years ago at the age of 17, when he began RAIN ministries in Cleveland, OH. It was here, at these raw and desperate gatherings, Jamie first experienced the supernatural outpouring of the Holy Spirit, visitations, and encounters and was pressed with the vision for His generation. And he is still on that journey

Thankyou to all those who are joining us during Rosh Hashanah to fast and pray. Thankyou also to those who will be joining us for the House of Prayer beginning October 1st! I truly believe the revival winds are sweeping through our land, that we are on the verge of widespread harvest and the Lord is looking for a place to manifest his glory!

"There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer." Dr. A.T. Pierson

In this hour God is raising up a generation that is desperate to know His heart, desperate to see Him face to face. This is a generation that will pursue Him until they catch Him; a company of people that will violently take the kingdom by force. That is the heart of crave ministries. To partner with the Holy Spirit to raise up a generation that will walk in the fullness of it's destiny. This is not church as you have always known it, this is not youth group as you have always known it.
                                                                                                                            This is desperation.

We believe that for too long the church has played the defensive mode of living by trying to conform to the patterns of this world and bring influence, it's time that this generation brings reformation to way we live. Operating in an offensive counter culture movement. Walking by prophetic revelation to bring transformation to the culture and society around us. We were never meant to live under the oppression of a worldy culture, but we have been called to change life as we know it.

At crave we have a mandate from heaven to raise up Joshua's and Daniel's. Those that transform the ground they tread. We will contend for an outpouring of the Spirit upon this dry and thirsty land, we will see Acts 2, once again! Get ready this is the generation the prophets warned you about.

Statement of Faith - What We Believe

GOD IS OUR FATHER, infinite, almighty, and personal, He is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Deut. 6:4, 5; I Cor. 8:6)

JESUS CHRIST IS OUR SAVIOR, being true God and true man. We believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, and died on the Cross, a sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven. He is at the right hand of the Father, and is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:35)

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD IN US. We believe His ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ, and to convict people of sin, righteousness and judgment. He regenerates believers in Christ for their salvation. He baptizes, indwells, fills, guides, instructs and empowers the Christian for godly living and service. We believe in the present validity and importance of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as taught in the Scriptures, and we embrace his supernatural manifestations of power as necessary for the realization of God's full work on the earth today. (John 7:38,39; 14:16,17; 15:26; 16:8-11,13,14; I Cor. 12-14)

THE TRINITY expresses our belief in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These carry out distinct yet harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. (Matt. 28:19; Jn. 13:26)

WE ARE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, male and female, but mankind fell into sin and is therefore lost. Humans do not have the power to do works pleasing and acceptable to God until they become believers. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:24, 27, 3:1-24; Titus 3:5)

WE ARE BLESSED WITH SALVATION through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, his resurrection and ascension. These means provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who repent and receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and so become children of God. (Isaiah 53: Romans 5:1-9, I Cor. 15:3,4 Eph. 1:7)

WE ARE ENRICHED BY THE SCRIPTURES both Old and New Testaments and hold them to be the inspired Word of God, without errors in the original writings, the revelation of his will for the salvation of men, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; I Thess. 2:13, Rom. 15:4)

WE LOVE CHRIST'S CHURCH, composed of all people who have saving faith in Jesus Christ, both Jew and Gentile. (Matt. 16:16-18; Acts 2:32-47; II Cor. 5:17)

WE ACCEPT OUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES to gather together for worship and fellowship, to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with a lost world, and to make disciples of all the nations. (Heb. 10:24,25; Matt. 28:19; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)

WE JOYFULLY FOLLOW CHRIST IN PARTAKING THE ORDINANCES OF BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38: I Cor. 11:23-26; Gal. 3:26-28)

WE EXPECTANTLY WAIT FOR THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST personally, and visibly to earth to establish His Kingdom. (Rev. 20:4-6; I Thess. 4:14-18)

WE EMBRACE ETERNAL LIFE, believing in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment. (Matt. 25:46; Rev. 20:11-15)
